Let Me See The Light

I spy with my little eye, something beginning with....

DM and HB. Dr. Martens and HighBeam. The Dr. Marten's are essential, so that I don't break a leg on this snow/ice. I am currently slik-ing (slip & walk...get it?) my way around the place. I need some major grip! The HighBeam is essential for my pale complexion. I knew, I should have bought it when there was 10% off. The high points of my face need a bit of enhancing and this 'supermodel in a bottle' is just the product I need.

What essentials are you lusting after this week?

PS How stunning is this Zink magazine editorial featuring Mariana Idzkowska?

A Winter Wonderland

Is there anything nicer than waking up in the morning, to see snow outside? For me, there is not! I thought that my Parka and Over-the-Knee boots would keep the Winter chill away. They sort of failed, but (along with the snow), is there anything nicer than a fur rimmed hood and tasseled boots? Whilst checking the snow out, of course! Perhaps, it would have been wise to wear some gloves...

Mr. A

Sometimes, you just don't need words. Sometimes, it's okay for the pictures to do all the talking. Thank God for Miles Aldridge. One of my favourite photographers. Perfection!

Is Miles Aldridge for you? Happy Thanksgiving, for those who celebrate!

Disco

A question for you and you: What do I go for this Christmas party season? The plain black, but stunning wide legged jumpsuit? I can accessorise this to the max. Or do I go for the Rose/ Gold sequined ultimate party dress. Because sometimes, you need to let a dress be the accessory, also.

My Make-up is done, so too is my hair, I even have the fake eyelashes glued on, so what do I go for?

I'm thinking that beautiful sequined Topshop dress, but then this Warehouse jumpsuit melts my heart. Oh, decisions decisions!

Make it easier and let me know which one you would choose?

You Better Watch Out

Dear Santa,

Hope you are working hard to ensure my pressies will be delivered on time! How is your other half, aka, Mrs. Claus, oh and those eager beaver, Elves? This year, Santa, I want a few bits and pieces...nothing too extravagant. I know that the North Pole has a recession, also.

A patent Vivienne Westwood would look just right in my bag. A girl can never have too much perfume and my life is lacking without some Chanel, Coco Mademoiselle. A Michael Kors watch is the perfect chunky, but not too chunky watch that needs to sit on my wrist, as opposed to the ASOS warehouse. Last, but not least, this chandelier.

'He sees you when you're sleeping.
He knows when you're awake.'

If that song is true, you might have seen the state of my bedroom lately, no? It is so not fashionable. A Chandelier is exactly what it needs to give it that bit of 'Ooh, la la'.

I have been very good this year, Santa. So, please be good to me, for goodness sake!

Coco Mademoiselle Perfume: Sephora, from $61
Vivienne Westwood Wallet: Harrods, £99.95
Michael Kors Watch: ASOS, €222.68

What's on your Christmas Wishlist this year? I got inspiration from my sister for this post, with her typed out Christmas letter to Santa, of course!

Warning.......

......The Chunky Heel Obsession continues......

I am loving this Friday. On a normal Friday, I would be sitting in my swivel chair with my headpiece on trying to sell, sell, sell. However, I turned that triple sell into a triple buy, today. One particular buy was these chunky heeled, buckled, shearling and leather boots. The heel is not too high, but not too low. Perfect for my tall (ish) frame. I know, I will wear these 'til they fall apart!

What's better to welcome the weekend than splurging on something? Are you planning a little shopping spree this weekend? Enjoy!

PS I am going to watch 'Arry Potter (say it in an English accent, sounds much better) tonight. I cannot wait!

Plastic-Fantastic

Here are two trends which I find really interesting-plastic and latex. Julia Stegner for Vogue Germany, December 2010 carries these trends off with panache. I don't think I would ever be brave enough to wear those latex pull ups, but that cape is plastic-fantastic. In fact I love that whole outfit! I need a pair of those trousers in my life.

What about you....to plastic or not?

Wishful Thinking is Very Fashionable

I do believe that cakes are very fashionable. Like bags, they are pretty and structured. Like a pair of wide legged trousers, they are comforting. Like a pair of Jimmy Choos, they can be as elegant or understated as you want them to be. So, basically a cake is the love child of three things- wide-legged trousers, Choos and bags. Well, according to My Republic of Fashion, they are!

I have blown out the candles to a few cakes in my time. For my 18th, the cake was a handbag. For my 21st, the cake was a bit confused, but still fashionable all the same. There was shoes and bags thrown willy-nilly all over it. Did I like it? No, I loved it!

This year, my cake was devoid of any fashion accessory, per se, but it was the most fashionable cake I have ever laid my eyes on. Quite literally death by chocolate, layers of chocolate, layers of cream. Love from the words Happy Birthday.

But there is one universally special thing about cakes (even if they don't taste or look great) :You get to make a wish. How fashionable is that? I say, very! I always make a wish, do you?

PS Just something a bit different on this Tuesday.
PPS My sister's made this beautiful cake...ta very much, darlings.

Because I Can

Scorpio by Vogue UK
The Scorpion breaks the Shell on Classic Evening Looks with a Zingy Red Velvet Jumpsuit (Beware of the Sting in her Tail). Picture Below

Scorpio Fashion Horoscope by Astrolis
The overriding theme throughout the month is a growing sense of confidence and an unwillingness to fade into the background of your own life. Unafraid to make waves or to be yourself, this is going to see you stamp your own tastes onto what you wear and how you wear it. Your motto this month needs to be 'because I can'.

I think you all get the idea that the Scorpion this & next year is going to be fierce, in terms of fashion.....well, that's what the horoscopes say. Horoscopes are fun, but I (and I'm sure, you?) could take them or leave them. But since it's my 23rd Birthday today, I will take them. After all, it is my Birthday and I can horoscope if I want to!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

PS Do I think that people should be aware of the sting in a Scorpion's tail? Hell, yes!

This Saturday....

On my mind this Saturday afternoon-big comfy, Faux fur or Mongolian Shearling coats. A coat like this, needs to appear in my wardrobe, right-this-minute.

Here are my choices: one affordable, one that I could only buy in my wildest dreams. What clothing piece/s are you lusting after today? Now, I must go and make myself presentable, so I can go search (probably in vain) for a coat like this in town. Have a great Saturday!

Emma W

Ever since Emma Watson chopped her locks, she has become one edgy lady. Think Vogue UK, December 2010 issue. At the premiere of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, she rocked this lacy and feathery vintage black Rafael Lopez dress. Feathers and lace, a dress destined for success, no?

What do you think of this smouldering look, Watson is rocking? I love the whole look from her pixie hair to her Charlotte Olympia platforms.

You are so Dry!

Buy me lotions and fancy creams,
I am so crazy 'bout these.
Keepin' the dry-ness away
I say, Oh, yay!

What I need is some Clinique,
a bitta eight-hour cream as well, please.
Olive oil moisturiser and soon I will be Olive Oyl herself.
Give me fancy shampoo and I will be your Queen.

Yes, these are a few of my favourite things!

Dry Skin is not fashionable. I suffer from dry skin and now that it is officially Winter, my skin gets even drier. Now that I have a bit of money, I can indulge in some luxurious products which soothe and salve my skin. So, it is now dry skin no-more!

What products do you use to keep Winter skin a distant memory?

PS. Can you see that I am loving masks with feathers....they have no purpose, but they are pretty and feathers will always be fashionable.

Something beginning with the Letter S

A Snood=a scarf and a hood. Oh, my! It keeps you warm and protects you against rainy, blustery weather. Can be worn with anything, as seen in the pictures. Are you a little chilly? Pick up a snood and that chilliness will soon turn into warmness. Don't be fooled by the silliness of their name. Buy a snood today in any good retailers. Prices vary, but they all do exactly the same thing. What are you waiting for?

Small Print: Terms and Conditions do not apply. If the Snood does not make you warm, well then, just wear more. Responsibility will not be held!

I am surprised that I bought something that has such a ridiculous name. But, I couldn't resist. This fluffy snood has been my companion all weekend. Actually, so too have my over sized denim jacket and my Alexander Wang-esque (but really River Island) comfy, oh-so comfy trousers. I can't bear to take them off!

Will you be buying a snood anytime soon? Hope ye are all having a fantastic weekend?!

P.S. In the last post I said that horses were my favourite animal in fashion pictures. Well, it just so happens, my sister has two horses, but she went away with them today, so no horsing around in these pictures. You will just have to do with the barking mad Ozzy instead.

Giddy Up!

Meow-w-w-w-w-w-w. Don't get catty with me!
Woof-f-f-f-f-f, woof. You are just barking mad!
Neigh-h-h-h-h. Will you ever just stop horsing around?

Cats and horses and dogs-Oh, my! I just love seeing healthy, shiny, maybe even smug looking animals in fashion editorials. My favourite animal out of the three, has to be the horses. There is just something so regal and majestic about these powerful, headstrong and beautiful animals.

What animals do you favour?

Dear......

Dear Diary,

Guess what? Go on, guess. Ok, fine, I'll tell you! I am just after seeing the full collection that Lanvin designed for H&M. I wish you had eyes, diary, because this is one glamourous collection. Think ruffles, think bright colours, think mini dresses, think great Winter coats.

The only problem I have now, diary, is how do I get my hands on one of these dresses and that coat (pictured below) and where will I wear them? Hmmm, I may have to come back to you on that one!

Anyway, that is all for today, diary. I'll be back tomorrow.
