Your Republic Of Denim

Fashion Fades, only denim remains the same. (Coco Chanel, adjusted by yours truly.)

I'm 23 years old now and I love denim. I'm sure that love will remain when I am 43, 63.... Hopefully, I will be a GID-granny in denim. A proud title, for sure.

Denim is an essential for both men & women. Be it jeans, dresses, skirts, shorts etc. A woman who doesn't wear denim has no future. Coco Chanel is turning in her grave, as I mess up her wonderfully worded inspirational quotes. But hey, it's worth it for denim, right?

E-LOB & I

LOBS have been doing the rounds for a number of years. A LOB? Long Bob. Just to make my self clear.

{Celebrity Lobbers}

On Saturday morning, I was contemplating getting a hair cut. A LOB, perhaps? That contemplation turned into a last minute hair appointment. Going into the hairdressers, I smelled of hair desperation. My hair was practically begging, 'cut me off'. Just cut the whole lot off. At first, the hairdresser wouldn't comply. 'Really?', she asked. 'Are you sure?', she also asked. By this stage, I was fit to grab the scissors and cut it my self.

I eventually persuaded her that my desired hair cut would be perfect. So, she cut and chopped. What was I left with? An E-LOB. Yes, you read that right. E-LOB? Extra long bob.

Just to be 'different', ya know? Despite having a ridiculous named haircut, it was the best decision I have made in quite some time. I feel like a new person. Only, I'm not. No hiding behind my hair now. See Ms. Hairdresser, I told you it would be all okay. An added plus? My hair style rhymes. E-LOB, Knob, Sob, Mob, Lob.......

I may not look happy in the picture below, but trust me, I am delighted. Capital D-E-L-I-G-H-T-E-D. E-LOB & I will (hopefully) live happily ever after.

Who also has a LOB, or even better an E-LOB? Let me know!

Nice Is Nice

I don't usually do these kind of posts, but when my friend text me today, she reminded me about Nice, France. So, I just had to have a post dedicated (well, sort of semi dedicated) to the most glamorous area in France: La Côte d'azur.

As part of my college course, I spent four months in Nice. What can I say? I need to go back. It is as chic, as it is flashy and very ooh-la-la. Can it get any more fabulously fashionable?

{Nice at Sunset.}

{Death by an Ice-Cream Sundae in Ma Nolans. Yes, an Irish pub in Nice. Shamefaced. Oh ya, I ate most of it.}

{The casino in Monaco.}

{Trekking my way up to the palace in Monaco. Wearing my trusty parka. Of course!}

{Cheers. With Sparkling wine, not Champagne. More's the pity.}

Thank God It Is Friday. Have a cocktail, go dancing, go shopping.... Do whatever you wish!

From Old Maid To Alex Perry

I have been feeling quite the old maid recently, hence the floral shower hat. Forget floppy hats, shower hats are the way to go. If you want to be an old maid, that is. The solution....?

A bit of Alex Perry (Spring/Summer 11/12) lust will cure your old maid-ery ways as easy as reciting the a-b-c alphabet. A is for 'Allo Alex, B is for Beautiful Dresses, C is for Cat-like poses.

Sharp, sassy, colourful-sometimes not, fierce. Old maid, be gone! Alex Perry, the most glamorous fashion designer in Australia? I say yay. You say?

P.S. The Old Maid inspiration came from Sex & The City. Remember Charlotte feeling old in Atlantic City? Her solution was to put on a ehhhh, slinky dress. My solution is to dream about an Alex Perry design.
