Horoscope 29.06.11

You may be overwhelmed by the feeling that everyone but you is having a good time. Stop brooding in the corner, finish up your last bits of work, and ready yourself for a rollicking weekend. Even though it’s still three days away, you must make it your objective to fully live it up. Scorpio Horoscope 29/06/11, ElleUk.com

Tall Ships are in my home town at the moment and shall be here for some more days to come. My Horoscope predicts a good weekend ahead. Yes, this should be a good weekend. Here are three reasons why:
Plenty of glitter. My favourite boots that are perfect to go from day-to-night (screw heels). And some pretty necklaces. Obviously, I will factor in some clothes as well.

What are you looking forward to this weekend?

 P.S. A Tall Ship? Don't worry, I'll take photos.

Love To Hate

Smug expression. Fringed dress in the air. Folded arms. Extreme floppy hat. Dark lips.

An editorial you might love to hate. Me? Love. You?

The Rain Is A Pain.

When it rains, I go insane.
Especially since it's 'Summer'. Why, oh why am I not in Spain?

I may have a room with a view.
But sometimes, that's just no good.

When I wake up full of brightness, I expect to see a sun in the sky.
Then I see rain, just out of spitefulness.

'What to wear today', I often ask myself.
Short skirt, bare legs? Maybe someday, but not today.

Sweaters, some might say.
Zara do them. Zara is from Spain.

With a bit of Spain,
I will no longer feel the pain
that is caused by the dreaded rain.

Amen to that.

Man+Woman+Hermès

Man+Woman. Man with sober, yet chic blazer, panama hat and designer stubble. Woman with a burst of colour dress and designer bag. A Hermès shoulder bag, no less. Man+Woman probably don't know each other, but these two would be a Sartorial dream. The perfect couple. Star crossed fashion lovers. Who needs love, when you have fashion?*

*P.S. I joke. Of course one needs love! Love can be found anywhere. That's what I tell myself each day. Please note: I tell myself many things every day and Nada. So, don't sue me if your true love doesn't come galloping on a black (white-so over rated) horse tomorrow. I take no responsibility.

Cocktail, Please.

The best way to end the week? A cocktail in fashionable* settings, of course! Mango Daiquiri in a Martini glass. Sure, why not! Mixing trends & patterns is very fashionable this season, after all. The same applies for cocktails.

It's the weekend. What is everyone planning?

*Fashionable Settings. Am in my fluffy nightgown, accessorised with fluffy socks and frizzy hair.

Attractive.

Céline. Phoebe Philo. The Number Six.

One-two-three-four-five-six. Un-deux-trois-quatre-cinq-six.

Six outfits. Six versatile outfits. Designed by Phoebe Philo. Under the Céline brand. The number six is a good one. Not only is it an even number. But, six is the same in both English & French. Lost in Translation when it comes to the number six? Never. Lost in Translation when it comes to Phoebe Philo designing for Céline? Never. Ever wanted to dump your wardrobe for six outfits? Never. Until now.

Céline Resort 2012. Coming to a store near you soon. Just remember to have plenty of cash and worship the designs of Philo upon arrival.

I love, do you?

Jeepers-Creepers. I Want To Cover My Peepers.

I'm in the market for a new pair of sunglasses. What brand of sunglasses do I spy on immediately? Rayban. Good, old, classic Rayban. Nothing wrong with them. I can't get enough of their aviators. But, in the back of my mind, I am thinking: 'there is really more to sunglasses than aviators.' Indeed. There is.

So, let me introduce three reasons to pick sunglasses that are not Rayban aviators. Who is with me?

1. Ever wanted cat eyes? They are all the rage. Don't bother with plastic surgery. Instead, cover your peepers with those ASOS red frames. That should do the trick.
2. Think Miuccia Prada is cool? Buy those curly-wurly-absolutely-amazing sunglasses. Then you can be just as cool as Miuccia. Remember, I said just.
3. The classic debate of Rayban vs. American Apparel. Go for AA. They need the business after all. They are also quite similar to the pair Abbey Lee is wearing. Enough said.

The sunglasses I am especially lusting after? Those Prada's.

Chloé

If these Chloé's weren't €475, they would most certainly be in my wardrobe. Actually, screw the wardrobe.
They would be on my feet.

What kind of feet wear are you lusting at the moment?

Opening.Ceremony.

I feel like I am dressing too conservatively lately. The motto of 'if you've got it, flaunt it' seems to be passing me by as I dress myself each morning. I convince myself that a top is too low cut, when clearly it is as far removed as low cut you can get. Jersey shore? Now, they are low cut. And I don't just mean their tops. Ooohhhh! I am a Scorpio, after all. I have a bit of a sting!

As some of you might know, I like to day dream. And the minute I saw Chloë
Sevigny's Resort collection for Opening Ceremony, my day dreams went in to overdrive.

What if. Just what if I sauntered into work wearing that leather dress below. Eye. Popping. I don't think my colleagues could handle it. I'd probably be sent home for being a leathery old goat.

{But the thing about this leather dress, is that it is beautiful. Wear it like the model. Sandals, simple hair & make-up and you are done.}

The sexy outfit below needs no explaining. This outfit has the salsa feel about it. Never minding the fact that I have two left feet and can't salsa to save my life. My expertise is in the robot. Not the machine, the dance, more is the pity. But, I know, just know, that if I had that outfit on, I could salsa my life away. Not a bad way to spend your life. Just look at that skirt.

{Day Dreams, be gone! This outfit, especially the skirt needs to be in my life. That would sort my ever growing conservative ways.}

What do you think about Chloë's resort collection for O.C.?

Blue Lagoon

Nail-polish of the moment: Blue Lagoon by Revlon.
Bracelet of the moment: String & a little diamante (fake, darling) by River Island.

I love how fresh this Revlon nail-polish is. All I need to do is pair this polish with a simple bracelet. In fact, so simple this bracelet is, I might, just might make some myself. So, the string bracelet is a potential d.i.y. I wouldn't hold your breath, though!

What is your nail-polish of the moment?

Just Dance

What do I want to wear and do now? Throw on a pair of Palazzo trousers and go dancing! The ditsier the print, the better, I say. 'Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin alive, stayin alive.' Palazzo trousers and The Bee Gees? Sure, why not!

Note to self: Need to buy a pair of Palazzo's in case of a need to dance emergency.

L-R: Palazzo Trousers from River Island and Topshop

Hope every one is having a great weekend. Make it a fashionable one. Well, a semi fashionable one!

P.S. The trousers I am wearing in the picture above are from Topshop. Made my thighs look horrid. Great for dancing, though!

Elle

Is there anything better than opening a new magazine for the first time? Whether it be a car magazine, an arts & craft magazine, or my own preference: a fashion magazine. The one magazine that I always look forward to is Elle UK. This months magazine is a good one. Not only does Rosie Huntington-Whiteley look stunning, the content of the magazine is very promising, also. Flipping through it earlier, it is a colourful delight. I can't wait to read it all! Oh, and I want that white silk jacket by The Row which is adorned by RHW.

Which magazine(s) do you look forward to each month?

Zara Loves Colour. So Do I.

Oh. Hello there!

Out of all the Spring-Summer trends that are knocking around at the moment, the colour block trend is the one I am really loving. Which high street store blocks those colours the best? Zara. Bright pink, royal blue? Yes, please!

I was gallivanting in Spain last week and Zara was my first pit shop. I couldn't resist. I mean, it would be such a sartorial shame not to visit Zara whilst being a tourist in the country that founded such a fantastic store, right? Just supporting the Spanish economy.
