Let's Plant Some Flowers

Looking forward to: Autumn/Winter flowers. Not the ones you plant. I am no Gardener. The flowers you wear. Call me an Autumn/Winter flower horse. An exotic breed, I tell ya.

Take Me Out

Ah, Friday night. Date night!  If I was going on a date tonight, I would wear this dress. Red, leopard print and curve cl-clinging. However, I am not. The dress and the date will just have to wait.

The Solar System. The Easy Way.

Have you ever wondered what the solar system looks like up close? How amazing it must be! Instead of risking your life in a space shuttle to visit it, why not just look at Christopher Kane's Spring/Summer 2011 collection.

Surfing the solar system via Christopher Kane via style.com.

This collection has been around for quite some time, but do you still love it? Or have you ever loved?

The Battle of Leather

Give you a hint about my maybe-next-hopefully big purchase? Without further ado, look below. Hello leather!

What wins it for you: the beautiful shearling collared Acne jacket or the equally beautiful, but shearling-less Zara jacket. Just supporting the economy, as usual!

Fly Away

Still obsessed with 'the' Miu Miu bird. I bought this keyring today. Is it Miu Miu, I hear you ask? Absolutely! Absolutely not, more like. But it is a nice copy.

Keyrings are fashionable accessories. Not only are they fashionable, they are personal, too.  They always have a meaning, which can be obvious or hidden. To me, a bird symbolises a lot of things, including freedom. My keyring collection has been quite diverse over the years, from an Eiffel Tower, to my name (just in case I forgot it), to a handbag and shoe. This bird is my favourite. Time to spread my wings and fly away, me thinks!

What kind of a keyring do you have at the moment?

Ninety-Ninety-What?

When I think of the nineties, I think of cycling shorts, leggings, big scrunchies. Ah, the good old nineties. I was born in the eighties, but grew up in the nineties. I possessed a hairband with my name on it. I also possessed bucked teeth. Not a very fashionable era.

However, this not-very-fashionable era is alive and kicking. Baby G watches are back! Who knew? Certainly not me. I know, how ignorant. Satchels are back. I used to have a satchel; a big red one that I used to carry school books in. It was loved and abused, equally.

Tartan. Question: Did anyone ever have to wear a tartan skirt in school? If you say yes, well poor you. I never did. So, when I look at tartan, I just see tartan and not memories of stuffy classrooms and teachers who would eye the length of said skirt, 'is that skirt rolled up?' Pull it back down. Tartan is tacky enough. Amen to that.

Label This, Label That

"Never use the word “cheap”. Today everybody can look chic in inexpensive clothes (the rich buy them too). There is good clothing design on every level today. You can be the chicest thing in the world in a T-shirt and jeans — it’s up to you."
— Karl Lagerfeld

I like this quote. I like wearing jeans and a t-shirt. You don't have to be dripping in designer labels to feel and look good. Neither do you have to be a glamorous clothes horse every day to make a statement (as much as I love a bit of bling, bling). Sometimes simple is best. That is my opinion, anyway. Agree or disagree?

Of course, saying that, there is room for some designer chewing gum!

Erin

There is something so equally fascinating and terrifying about Erin O' Connor strutting down the Jean Paul Gaultier catwalk. She is a couture wearing, shorter haired, young Angelica Huston. Powerful.
